The Robledo Visitors Centre receives a moon rock delivered by NASA

The October 27th 2011, the SCaN Deputy Associate Administrator of NASA, Mr. Badri Younes, delivered a moon rock to the Visitors Centre of MDSCC in Robledo, being now the rock part of the permanent exhibition. The Centre realizes a spreading work of space activities, specially focused on NASA’s missions and the role of Robledo Centre, and receives visits from schools and general public.
Since the 60s INTA – and since its creation in 1992 INSA – has realized services of detection, operations and maintenance of the NASA’s space communications centres in Robledo, Fresnedillas and Cebreros, nowadays merged in the Robledo Complex. The Fresnedillas Centre supported the communications with the NASA’s manned flights program, under which this moon rock was brought to the Earth by the Apollo XV mission.
The delivery of the moon rock shows the recognition of NASA to the work of the stations situated in Spain.
