Since the 60s INTA – and since its creation in 1992 INSA – has realized services of detection, operations and maintenance of the NASA’s space communications centres in Robledo, Fresnedillas and Cebreros, nowadays merged in the Robledo Complex. The Fresnedillas Centre supported the communications with the NASA’s manned flights program, under which this moon rock was brought to the Earth by the Apollo XV mission.
The delivery of the moon rock shows the recognition of NASA to the work of the stations situated in Spain.
